Kathy Lynn Mitchell Logan, age 58, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday September 5, 2012, at her home with her family by her side.
Memorial services were held Saturday, September 8, 2012, at her home, 635 CR 355, in Gatesville at 3:00 p.m. Services were a potluck celebration of Kathy’s life.
Kathy was born May 8, 1954, in Gatesville, Texas, to Sid and Bonnie Mitchell. She lived her life with a song in her heart, and singing one aloud. She was the glue that held her family together and the rock that made it strong. Anyone who knew Kathy would remember the beautiful smile she wore for the world to see and enjoy. She was always willing to do anything for anyone, and would never ask for anything in return. She was Earth’s Angel who has been taken home to Heaven to rejoice after a four-year battle with cancer. Even through her battle with cancer, she never bowed her head in defeat, but fought with faith and joy. Kathy loved her antiques and anything with a story or memory. Later in life she enjoyed working with her family and their business to keep the books in order. Kathy will be missed by those who knew her best, but even those who may have met her only once.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Bonnie Mitchell; and grandparents, Leona Fowler and Sid and Essie Mitchell.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Don Logan; three daughters, Kandis Logan Brown, Lauren Logan and Alison Pennington; two brothers, Pat Mitchell and David Mitchell; one sister, Peggy Retherford; and two grandsons, Shannon Brown and Korbin Brown.
