Luther Weldon Chitwood age 83, passed away on Saturday September 22, 2012 at a local hospital.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday September 26, 2012 at Smith Cemetery.

Weldon was born on July 12, 1929 in Coryell County to Luther and Belle Chitwood. He was raised and lived in Coryell County his whole life. He was in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for A&P Grocery store. He worked for the Texas Youth Commission. And he later retired from the TDC. He loved to fish and garden and ride around in his gator.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers Harold Gene and Morris Lloyd Chitwood.

Weldon is survived by two sisters Anita Belle Moore of Gatesville and Marilyn McConathy of Bossier City; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
