Memorial services for Calvin Hempel, 61, of Copperas Cove, were held Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.

Calvin was born August 16, 1951, in Gatesville, TX. On September 26, 2012, Calvin answered the most important call of his life.

Calvin is survived by his parents, Melvin Hempel and Myrtle Blackstock; his brother, Donald Hempel; two sons, Jeremy Hempel and Tony Hempel; a daughter, Christa Hempel; and seven loving grandkids, Dillan, Cayleigh, Kohlton Hempel and Jason Gamble, Keagan Kuni, Kairyn and Anthony Hempel, along with many nieces and nephews.

Calvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Nathan and Edwin Hempel. Calvin spent much of his time fishing and hunting, but more than that, he loved spending quality time with his family and friends. He was always finding a reason to get the family together.

You will be greatly missed. Until we meet again, please remember love is missing someone whenever you’re apart, but somehow feeling warm inside because you are close in heart.
