Buzz about the 2012 Gatesville Hornets started as a whisper in the spring as 28 seniors prepared to carry their team into a new district and grew to a dull roar in the summer with an appearance in the title bracket at the state 7-on-7 tournament and preseason Most Valuable Player honors.
Now with the first 5-0 start since 2000 under their belts, head coach Kyle Cooper and his team are focused on the elephant in the room—winning the first district title in a decade.
