Main Street in Gatesville has become a regular route in recent months for extremely large rigs heading mostly to the west. This block-long assemblage passed through town in late September, held aloft by two separate trailers with 48 tires on each. The unit’s design prompted many folks to suggest it looked like a rocket, possibly from SpaceX in McGregor, but that speculation could not be confirmed and other features seemed to argue against that possibility.
