Ellis Doyle Crow, age 83, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kurt Fuessel officiating. Burial followed at Turnersville Cemetery.
Doyle was born on September 4, 1929, in Oglesby, Texas, to Thomas Jonathan (T.J.) and Ollie Fleming Crow. He served in the U.S. Army. Doyle was a farmer and rancher. He also worked at the Texas Department of Transportation, retiring after many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Hollan Crow and Monroe Crow; and sisters, Cleone Holt, Ruby Stanley and Dorothy Duckett; nephew, Thomas Stanley; and niece, Margaret McCutchen.
Doyle is survived by his nieces, Barbara Scheh and husband, Greg, and Joyce Stanley; nephews, James Crow and wife, Sharon, Thomas Holt and wife, Linda, Donald Holt and wife, Lynn, Dennis Duckett, and David Duckett; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of friends.
