On Monday, the Gatesville City Council canvassed votes from the Nov. 6 election and the next day, the first applications for an alcohol license were submitted to City Secretary Wendy Cole.
Voters approved two measures to allow alcohol sales in Gatesville. One will permit beer and wine sales for off-premise consumption and the other will allow restaurants to sell mixed beverages.
