Mayhew Watson, 89, of Jonesboro, TX, passed away on November 26, 2012.
He will be laid to rest in Jonesboro by those who knew him best and surrounded him until his last day.
Mr. Watson lived in Jonesboro all of his life. He was a leader and great supporter to the school and the people in the community. He was the owner of a small grocery store where most of the community met and got to know him very well. Mr. Watson had compassion for everyone and was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a love for life, his family, neighbors and community. He was a well-respected man, was a positive person, and spoke kind words. In his later years, he loved working on his land, taking care of his cattle and visiting with his close friends. The last few years he lived at the Rocking Chair Ranch, where he established a new-found family and support. Mr. Watson will be remembered by his smile and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jonesboro ISD Mayhew Watson scholarship fund.
