Jackie Lewis Graves, age 75, of Granger, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013, after a valiant battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Smith Graves and Bessie Mae.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Ann Busby Graves; sons, Robert Jerry Graves of Austin and Randy Graves of Copperas Cove; daughters, Tina Dale Joiner of McKinney, Carla Jayne Kremper of Granger and Connie Menton of Forestberg; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, who called him “Uncle Jack” with great respect and fondness.
All who knew him have their favorite “Jack” stories with most consisting of little tricks, jokes he would play, and wild tales of how he and his family lived when he was young. Jack could “fix” anything that broke whether it was your favorite toy, heavy equipment, or a bad attitude. He loved playing his guitar. He would never pass by a stranded motorist without offering his help. He will be missed by all of us every time something needs “fixing.”
Jack was born in Coryell County, Texas on February 15, 1937. He then spent the rest of his life working hard and taking care of everyone he could. He was the owner of Bank Service & Equipment in Round Rock, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas, with Pastor Mike Delaney officiating. Interment followed at Weir Cemetery on CR 120 just south of Weir, Texas.
Personal words of comfort may be sent to the family online at www.gabrielsfuneral.com.
