With a new district attorney as well as an assistant district attorney coming straight out of private practice, some conflicts were inevitable for pending felony cases.
Coryell County District Attorney Dusty Boyd, who took office earlier this month, asked commissioners Monday for $35,000 to hire a special prosecutor to handle at least 35 cases where a conflict of interest has already been identified.
