Mike Aycock, of Belton, died Jan. 3, 2013, at the age of 40.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at College Avenue Baptist Church in McGregor with the Rev. David Thompson and Chaplain Alvin Dillard officiating. Interment was in McGregor Cemetery.
Mr. Aycock was born Dec. 6, 1972, in Corsicana to Jimmy and Sherrie (Franklin) Aycock. He graduated in 1991 from Temple High School and continued his education at Temple College and Central Texas Regional Police Academy. On May 16, 1998, he married the former Angela Spradley in McGregor and moved to Belton in 1999 from Temple. Much of his life was spent as a police officer in Mart, McGregor, Hewitt and the last 14 years in Killeen. He received many awards and certificates and had achieved a Masters Peace Officer level. He also was a Little League coach.
Survivors include his wife, Angela, of Belton; a son, Dalton Aycock of Belton; a daughter, Dakota Aycock of Belton; a sister, Cristi Cleveland of Cockrell Hill; parents, Jimmy and Sherrie Aycock of Gatesville; paternal grandmother, Bernice Aycock of Gatesville; and maternal grandmother, Maggie Franklin of Mart.
