Luwin Perryman Cathey, age 79, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today (Saturday), January 26, 2013, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Luwin was born on July 5, 1933, in Coryell County, Texas, to the late Glenn Perryman and Emma Rosin Perryman. She attended school in the Harman community and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1952. Luwin went to school for cosmetology. After she obtained her cosmetology license, she owned her own beauty salon in Gatesville until 1959. Luwin married William Duane Cathey on September 26, 1959, in Gatesville, and then they moved to Fort Worth where they lived most of their married life. She worked for Coca-Cola in Fort Worth and did babysitting in her home. Luwin enjoyed doing community work and loved to square dance. She was a member of the Methodist church in Fort Worth. In 2007, she and William moved back to Gatesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Glen Perryman Jr.
Luwin is survived by her husband of 53 years, William Cathey; daughter, Tracy Good of North Carolina; son, Byron Cathey and wife, Debra of Fort Worth; sister, Rosin Watkins of Copperas Cove, Texas; brother, Homer Perryman and wife, SaraLee of Copperas Cove, Texas; five grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
