LaWanda Jean Brown, 69, of Troy and formerly of Gatesville died Jan. 21, 2013, in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple. Burial followed at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville.

She was born April 28, 1943, at Ewing. She was retired from Scott and White Hospital where she worked as a clerk /administrator in the X-ray department for many years.

She is survived by her children, Carla Briggs, Melinda Eno, Ramonia Buchannan, Dana Brown, Ronald Witsey and Wesley Brown Jr.; sisters; Gail Barfield, Kay Freeman, Glenda McKinney and Peggy Smith; 11 Grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

No obituary will be accepted unless it is provided by a licensed funeral home. Information on obituaries are published free of charge in The Gatesville Messenger.
