Bobby Joe Benner, 76, of Waco, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at a Waco hospital.

Private services were held at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel with the Rev. Aaron Young officiating.

Mr. Benner was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Kerrville to Earl and Mildred Smith Benner. He served in the U.S. Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base, Amarillo, Tucson, AZ, and Goose Bay Labrador. He later owned and operated a delivery service for a number of years. He married Edith Evonne Ellebracht on June 13, 1959.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Benner; daughter, Brenda Kay Roedler of Oglesby; son, Terry L. Benner of Axtell; one sister, Patsy Brehmer of Boerne; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
