Margaret Dube Proft, of Belton, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at a Belton care center.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church at The Grove with the Rev. John Heckmann officiating. Interment followed at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Proft was born Jan. 31, 1918, at The Grove to the late William John and Martha Kieschnick Dube. She married William John Proft on Jan. 1, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was a homemaker and lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in The Grove. She was born, baptized and confirmed at The Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, James Bernard Proft; a sister, Ruth Winkler; and two brothers, William John Dube Jr. and Charles Ernest Dube.

Survivors include two sons, William John Proft Jr. of Roanoke, and Robert Wayne Proft of The Grove; two daughters, Margaret Ann Bray of San Antonio and Frances Katherine Moyer of San Jose, CA; two brothers, Dr. Clarence O. Dube of Houston and Lawrence E. Dube of Rosenberg; a sister, Frances Dube Miller of Houston; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
