Jerry Lynn Bettge, 68 of Flat, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Scott & White Hospital.

A memorial service was held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel.

Jerry Lynn Bettge was born February 5, 1945, to the late Rudolph and Ruth Bettge. He was born and raised in the Gatesville/Jonesboro area, graduating from Jonesboro High School. He was employed at ER Carpenter in Temple at a young age, being committed and loyal to one company until retirement. Jerry enjoyed raising and spending time with his two daughters, Shanna and Leah. He enjoyed Enduro dirt bike racing and fishing bass tournaments. Jerry was a real outdoors man and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Sue Gilbert.

He is survived by his two daughters, Shanna Kopp and husband, Matthew, and Leah Karl and husband, Robert; a brother, Jim Bettge; and four grandchildren, Haley, Kortney, Alyssa and Kadence.
