Before the Hornets played Robinson on Friday as a part of the 2013 Big Sting Spring Fling to raise money for local cancer victims, Gatesville’s senior defender, Brittny Mitchell had to choose between six of her family members who were affected by the disease.

Despite her warm smile and friendly persona, Mitchell said losing four of those loved ones to cancer—including her aunts Margot Nichols and Carol Everle in the past year—has been a challenge that brought her family closer together.
