Alex Cardenas kickstarted Gatesville’s historic night Friday by finding the back of the net on an unbelievable shot.
With the chance to clinch the program’s first-ever playoff berth, the Hornet senior looked to cross the ball from 10 yards out of the penalty box in the third minute against Lorena, but found an opening for a lofty goal that sparked Gatesville to a 3-1 win and into the postseason.
