February 15, 1937 – March 13, 2013

Reva Blanchard, age 76, of Gatesville, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Richard officiating. Burial followed at Gatesville City Cemetery.

Reva was born on February 15, 1937, in Coryell County, Texas, to the late Bill Holt and Lettie Wittie Holt. She grew up in Gatesville. She worked for Gulf States United Telephone, retiring after 30 years of service and at T.D.C.J. in the mailroom at the Woodman Unit. Reva married Ronnie Blanchard in 1982. She and her husband owned and operated Dyer’s Restaurant for eight years. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2008. Reva was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jarret Carter; brother, Raymond Holt; and sister, Wilma Smith.

Reva is survived by her son, Denny Morgan and wife, Jeanetta; daughter, Lyn Carter; grandchildren, Jeramy Morgan, Jenifer Morgan and husband, Mark Bell, Jason Morgan and wife, Rachel, Jodi Choate and husband, Shay, Ashley Gusukuma and husband, Tim, Adrian Pruett and husband, Eddy, and Ashton Carter and husband, Jacob Albin; and 24 great-grandchildren.

No obituary will be accepted unless it is provided by a licensed funeral home. Information on obituaries are published free of charge in The Gatesville Messenger.
