Gatesville Independent School District has announced that they will host a Sports Nutrition 101 presentation with sports nutritionist Wendi Irlbeck, MS, RDN, LD, CISSN, on Monday, July 29, at 6 p.m.
The presentation is for all students and parents who are interested in attending.
The meeting will be conducted from 6-7 p.m. via a live Zoom meeting in the Gatesville High School auditorium. The presentation will last for 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session with Irlbeck.
Discussion topics include
Protein, carbs, and calories 101
Fueling, training, and games
Navigating nutrition labels
Sleep, hydration, and recovery
Supplement use and safety
Weight gain and weight management
Grocery lists and fueling plan samples
If you are unable to attend in person, you may also view the presentation that night on your own by using a tablet or cell phone. There will be a secure link sent out to those who are interested.
Gatesville ISD athletic trainer Tatianna Navarro will be sending out more details and additional information closer to the event.
