Susons honor daughter

Dwight and Nancy Suson hosted a hamburger supper Friday evening honoring their daughter, Lindsey Suson. She recently graduated from Rutgers University Law School in Newark, New Jersey.  They were joined by Lindsey’s husband, Euntaek Yoon, and many friends for good food and great bluegrass music.

Christina and Rebekah Stephens, of Flower Mound, spent a few days with their grandparents, Ray, John, and Melva Stephens.

Gatesville ISD started their first day of school Thursday, Aug. 8. Later that afternoon, after school, to carry on (Marmi’s) tradition of the first day of school ice cream social, some met at the “Dairy Queen.” It was hosted by Mrs. Kari Belt.  Those attending were Margaret Hopson and Dani jo Wood, Kenneth Dixon, Sara and Lyndi Poynter, Kari, Charles and Thomas Belt, Jeb Dixon and his children Julia, Brooke and Reese Dixon, of Liberty Hill, Pam Hopson, Allie McPherson, Amanda, Aubree and Olivia Long, Rachel, Noah, Benjamin, and Emma Hopson.

Valerie Ferrell and Carolyn Blakley had lunch in Gatesville Friday.

Carolyn and Emma Blakley attended a College Graduation party in Mound for Lindsey Suson Friday evening.

Carolyn and Emma Blakley, Jerry and Brenda Helms had lunch in Gatesville Saturday.

Robert and Carolyn Blakley attended the Coryell County Fair fundraiser at the Gatesville Civic Center Saturday.

Jenson Kinnear rode in the mutton bustin’ event at the 87th Gatesville Rodeo on August 2nd. He placed second and won a trophy.

Malachi Shepherd, of Leander, was dedicated on Sunday, Aug. 4. He is the grandson of Kathy Brase, of Leon Junction, and the nephew of Devan and Staci Kinnear, also of Leon Junction. In attendance were mom and dad, Shawn and Brittani Shepherd, his big brother, Samuel Shepherd, his cousins Elli, Jenson, Molli, J.J, Julianne, Jessa, and Joy, along with grandparents, aunts, and uncles.  They enjoyed a celebration lunch afterward at the Shepherd residence.

Margaret Hopson and her granddaughter, DaniJo Wood, spent the last few days of summer enjoying the many sights of San Antonio. They toured the River Walk, had dinner at the top of the revolving Tower of Americas, and visited the many animals and entertainment venues at the San Antonio Zoo, including the Butterfly Rainforest and a train ride around Brackenridge Park.
