4-H ambassadors to host Clover Kids Day

Posted

Did you know that 4-H not only offers programs for youth in 3rd through 12th grades, but also has a Clover Kid age category? Students in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades are known as “4-H Clover Kids.”

If you have ever wanted to come explore 4-H opportunities for our youngest members, now is the time!

All youth entering kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to come have fun while learning about 4-H on Friday, July 26, at Hay Valley Baptist Church. Youth should arrive at 2 p.m. and may be dropped off by parents.

As always, parents are welcome to stay and observe or they may return at 5 p.m. for a “show and tell” presentation by their youth about what opportunities 4-H has to offer.

Youth will be invited to explore projects offered in the Coryell County 4-H programs for Clover Kid aged students, as well as the meaning behind the 4-H emblem.

As 4-H promotes healthy lifestyles, community involvement, and servant leadership, young people will be exposed to how they can truly follow the 4-H motto and “make the best better.”

Each age group will rotate through a series of stations led by the Coryell County 4-H Ambassador Team under the direction of the county extension agent.

They will experience what it’s like to complete a 4-H project, hear from successful 4-H youth leaders, and explore potential areas of interest for themselves.

Some of the projects that will be explored include Photography, Rabbits, Sheep/Goats, Fashion & Design, Foods & Nutrition, Visual & Performance Arts, Public Speaking, and more.

To pre-register, please go to the Coryell County AgriLife website at https://coryell.agrilife.org/.
