On Saturday, April 1 Don’t Mess with Texas began the annual trash-off for the entire month of April. Every year families, social clubs, Adopt-a-Highway groups, neighborhoods, and Keep Texas Beautiful come together all over the state join forces to pick up litter and beautify their communities.
For the month of April, an individual or a group can participate in the clean-up of any area around the Gatesville community. Take a before and after photo and tag Keep Gatesville Beautiful on Instagram or Facebook and your work will be shared.
Recommended clean-up areas include Business 36 from Lovers Lane to 36 (mostly the west side of the road), West Main Street along the long bridge area, South Levita Road near the drainage ditch, the empty wooded lot next to Cefco located at 116 and West Main Street, the area behind El Rodeo (between El Rodeo and Verizon), South Lovers Lane, and Old Waco Road.
