Gatesville Rodeo to be held Aug. 1-3

This year will mark the 87^th annual Gatesville Riding Club Rodeo, which will be held Aug. 1-3 at the rodeo arena located on Veteran’s Memorial Drive. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and the rodeo will begin at 6 p.m. nightly.

Mutton Busting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Thursday will be Military Appreciation Night, with discounted tickets including $12 adults, $8 children ages 6-12 with military identification. Friday will be Back the Blue. Those attending are asked to wear blue to support law enforcement officers. On Saturday, the 1^st Cavalry Horse Platoon will perform.

In addition to the Mutton Busting, the rodeo will include “Bubble Balls and Bulls,” and Jr. Barrel Racing.

Normal ticket prices will be $15 adults, $10 kids ages 6-12, kids under the age of 5 will be free.

Those wishing to participate in the rodeo should call 254-493-8954 on Sunday, July 28, between 7 and 9 p.m. for pre-entry.
