Gatesville High School Choir is proud to announce their ten recipients of the TMEA Texas Music Scholar award, which was bestowed at the Choir Banquet on April 27th.

The recipients were sophomores Eli Alvarez, Nahdiah Appleton, Nevin Benning, Roman Wallace and Paisley Wells; juniors Devyn Ayala, Ranyah Garraway, Katie Hopson, and Memphis Wells; and senior Anna Phillips.

The students were nominated by their Directors Cherith Wells and Tim Klingler, but the award was given by the Texas Music Educators Association.  This award is given to students who exhibit outstanding qualities in scholastic merit, musicianship, and citizenship by competing in the TMEA All-State process and UIL Solo & Ensemble, participating in numerous choral activities, as well as maintaining an overall A average for the school year.

These students are to be commended on their high level of achievement, as well as their consistent dedication to the Choir Program in Gatesville.
