GHS Year-End Shout-Out scheduled for May 21

Gatesville High School athletics program’s Year-End Shout-Out has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 21.

The event will be held at the Sidney L. Pruitt gymnasium and is for high school student athletes, varsity, sub-varsity, and freshman students.

There will be a social with coaches, athletes, parents, and fans from 6-6:30 p.m. in the gym foyer with light snacks served.

The recognition program will commence at 6:35 p.m. in the gym and will continue through 8 p.m. It will honor all Hornet athletic teams and student-athletes of the 2023 to 2024 school year.

GHS will recognize:

• The accomplishments of all the fall, winter, and spring sport teams, athletes, and coaches, including the 19 teams that advanced to the playoffs/postseason.
• The 58 athletes that advanced to regional competition.
• The seven athletes that advanced to state competition.
• All student trainers, managers, game film staff, and statisticians from each sport.
• The four athletes that have signed Letters of Intent to play at the collegiate level.
• The seven athletes and two head coaches that have been selected to participate in the upcoming Heart of Texas FCA Victory Bowl All-Star Games in baseball, basketball, football, softball, and volleyball.
• Athletes that have received district academic honors in their respective sports.
• The 15 seniors that earned prestigious THSCA Academic All-State accolades.
• Student-athletes that are honor graduates of 2023.
• Student-athletes that are the top honor graduates of the class of 2024.
• The coaching staff for their efforts, time, and commitment to students, athletes, as well as honoring those that are retiring or leaving the school district.

Letterman jackets will also be presented to all fall-sport athletes that earned varsity letters in cross country, football, team tennis, and volleyball.

A special farewell message will be presented as well as a sendoff for all senior student-athletes.
