On Sunday, Aug. 18, construction crews will start mill and inlay work on U.S. Highway 84 in Gatesville, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The project will take place at the intersection of Highway 84 and State Highway 36, heading west to Lutterloh Avenue. In the construction zone, crews will implement rotating lane closures.
TxDOT says crews will move traffic to the inside lanes while milling is done in the outside lanes. They will then switch traffic to the outside lanes for the road work on the inside lanes.
The lane closure pattern will repeat as crews pave the outside and inside lanes. Striping will then take place the following week.
TxDOT says construction work will take place nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to last approximately one week.
Message boards are in place to remind drivers of the project.
