Local fire department assists Houston residents impacted by storm

After a devastating storm that hit the Houston area on May 16 left hundreds of homes and businesses damaged and caused at least seven deaths, the Turnersville Volunteer Fire Department set out to help those in need.

Turnersville firefighters traveled to impacted areas in Houston on Friday, May 18, along with other fire departments from across Texas. For five days, members of the Turnersville Fire Department went out in 18-wheelers full of ice and water to distribute to residents who were without water and electricity. They returned to Gatesville on Friday, May 24.
