Make sure to register for VBS on Sunday

Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church are having their annual VBS June 9-13. Registration starts Sunday, June 9, at 4 p.m. The different age groups are (three-five-year-olds) (K-1^st grade) (2^nd-3^rd grade) and (4^th-6^th grade). Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. each afternoon. The time for VBS will be from 6-8:30 p.m. each evening. Parents’ night will be on the 13^th. This year’s theme is Barrier Rock Beach. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the fellowship. VBS directors are Mrs. Staci Combs and Sue Jones.

Don and Sue Jones met Ron and Blayn Smith, of Dallas, in Waco Sunday afternoon.

Valerie Ferrell and Carolyn Blakley had lunch in Gatesville together on Friday.

On Saturday, Elizabeth Phillips and Carolyn Blakley went to Waco for a going away party for Richard and Tammy Shook.

Emma Blakley worked at the Leon River Premium Beef booth at the Shivaree on Saturday.

Jerry and Brenda Helms went to Stephenville Saturday to see Reed, Katelyn, and Riley Griffith.

Doris Hoff, of Gatesville, visited during the week in Mound with Martha Lawhorn.

Brian and Crystella Camiel Quicksall, of Florida, Doug and Susan Quicksall, of Oglesby, Pat Johnson, of Austin, Roy and Jan Johnson, of Gatesville, and Eric and Liz McCorkle, of Mound, enjoyed their dinner on Thursday, May 30, in Gatesville at the Rancher’s Steakhouse Grill.

Jeb Dixon of Liberty Hill visited Gatesville and Mound over the Memorial Day weekend.

Several residents of Mound attended the 50^th anniversary Shivaree held Thursday through Saturday June 1.  This year’s Shivaree celebration was three days of various activities, including a carnival, Color the Shivaree-a fun Run 5K, a pickleball tournament, the 50^th anniversary Shivaree Car, Jeep, Truck, and Motorcycle Show, a petting zoo provided by Hal and Jo’s funny farm, various food and knick-knack vendors, and live music throughout the whole three days.
