Melanie Jane Schipper passed away peacefully on June 27th 2024 in Stephenville. She was born May 4th 1949 in Grand Prairie. She was the daughter of Glenn and Alberta (Wolf) White of Gatesville. After graduating from Gatesville High School in 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, David Schipper, with whom she had two children. They would later seperate but remain friends.
Melanie had a colorful work history before retiring several years ago. She worked for Los Alamos Scientific Labratories in Los Alamos, NM, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Gatesville, and retired as a social worker with the state of New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute in Las Vegas.
After retirement, Melanie moved to Stephenville to spend time with her children and grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Kelly Miller (Thad) and Jason Schipper (Barbara) both of Stephenville; her sister Joann Washburn; and brother, David White both of Gatesville, and her two beloved granddaughters, Emily and Erin Miller, both of Stephenville.
At Melanie's request, she will be cremated and her remains interred at Davidson Cemetary in Gatesville. No service will be held.
