Angie Shoaf Pearson will be replacing Van Collins as assistant principal at Gatesville Intermediate School as Collins will be assuming the role of principal at Gatesville Primary.

Angie Pearson was born and raised in Gatesville and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1994. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and teaching certificate from Tarleton-Central Texas and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas Arlington. She spent 15 of her 20 years in education as a classroom teacher and interventionist. The last five years she has been an assistant principal in the Temple ISD.

“I believe in the statement that it takes a village, and I am committed to forging the relationships with students, staff, families, and community members to ensure that all students meet their full growth potential. Gatesville is a special place to me, and my family, and I am so excited to be returning home to serve the community that I love,” Pearson said.

Angie and her husband, Jonathan, also a life-long Gatesville resident, are the proud parents of one son, John Riley Pearson, who is a senior at GHS and will graduate in May with plans to attend TSTC and then UNT.
