Platts honored with Yard of the Month for June

Keep Gatesville Beautiful has chosen the yard of Sharon and Jimmy Platt at 312 Hamilton Drive as the Yard of the Month for June.

The Platts moved to Gatesville around five years ago and work together to keep their yard in perfect condition. Jimmy does the mowing, weed eating, and trimming, while Sharon plants and tends to the flower beds.

The couple has a large variety of trees and plants, which include a Chinese Pistache tree, a Red Bud tree, Common Persimmon, Crepe Myrtle, a Flowering Desert Willow, a Spanish Dagger, and Youpon Holly bushes. Some of the plants and flowers are Salvia, Datura (Moon Flower), Blue Passionflower Vine, Lantanas, Mexican Petunia, Cannas, Coleus, a variety of sages, Wisteria Vine, and a Purple Hyacinth Bean Vine.
