Proudly waving from a new location

Six volunteers from the American Legion Post 42 received permission from the Keep Gatesville Beautiful committee to place flags at the new monument located at the corner of Business Highway 36 and Highway 36 Bypass in Gatesville. In the past, the American Legion has placed flags on the courthouse lawn honoring Memorial Day, the 4^th of July, and Veteran’s Day.

Last year, however, a new sprinkler system was placed in the courthouse lawn, and Legion members were uncomfortable with the thought of hitting one of the water lines while installing the flags. The American Legion Post 42 is very thankful that the Keep Gatesville Beautiful committee agreed to let them place the flags at the corner of a very busy intersection in Gatesville where they can be noticed.
