Folks Around Town

Say hello to our neighbor, Angie Pearson!

Posted

Angie is in her first year as the principal at Gatesville Intermediate School. Prior to her time as principal, she took on the role of assistant principal. She also worked for Temple ISD as an educator and Copperas Cove ISD as an interventionist. “The people are the absolute best part of my job! We are blessed with a phenomenal staff that I am fortunate to get to work alongside each day. I love being able to greet students as they arrive each day off the bus and hear about their lives outside of school as well as in school,” she said. “During the day and at dismissal, I try to take every opportunity to interact with our students. I also enjoy collaborating with parents and staff to develop individual plans for student success. I am so very appreciative of the support we get from families; the partnership between school and home is crucial in student success.” She is a life-long resident of Gatesville and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1994. “My favorite thing about Gatesville is the way we take care of one another. I am so proud to be a part of a community that will band together to help others in times of need,” she expressed. “With working at other school districts, the thing I realized I was missing was the connection I have found to my community here in Gatesville. To get to be a part of the lives of my friends' children and grandchildren is an honor and I am so thankful that my journey led me here. This is home, and I am thrilled to be in Gatesville.”

Angie reads The Gatesville Messenger and said, “I appreciate that The Gatesville Messenger focuses on the positive in our community. While all the news may not always be "good," The Messenger works to balance out the negative by highlighting all the wonderful events and people in our community.”

If you happen to see Angie around town, say hello! She is one of us!
