The Texas 4-H Roundup held in Bryan College Station was attended by Coryell County 4-H members from Monday, June 3, to Thursday, June 6.
The roundup welcomed around 1,600 senior level and high school-aged youth to compete in approximately 50 diverse competitions, educational workshops, career learning opportunities, and more throughout the week. The contests included both qualifying events, where 4-H members qualified at their county and district contests to compete at the state level, and invitational events.
Additionally, the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation awarded $2.7 million in scholarships to 229 youth.
Four Coryell County 4-H members were named to the Texas 4-H Scholars and received the following scholarships:
Cayleigh Coursey received $10,000, which was funded by the Ft. Worth Stock Show Syndicate.
Clayton Gregory received $5,000, which was funded by the McLean Estate.
Zoee Gribble received $5,000, which was funded by the McLean Estate.
Lane Kinsey received $5,000, which was funded by the McLean Estate.

The 4-H adult leaders included Cassie Conley, Tracy Coursey, Rhonda Dickey, Phil Gregory, Andy James, Tina Janke, Nancy Mannix, Jenna Murphy, and Lori Wolff. A special recognition was given to volunteer leader Tracy Coursey, who was honored as one of the two outstanding adult leaders in District 8 at the Salute to Excellence Banquet. Coryell AgriLife Office Manage Bridgette Alvarado was awarded the Commendable Service Award.
Additionally for 2024, roundup participants will have the opportunity to participate in the Quilts of Valor program, designing a quilt for a veteran. At the assembly, a veteran will be presented with a previously made quilt and honored for their years of service.
The 2025 Texas 4-H Roundup is scheduled for June 2 to 5, 2025, in Bryan College Station.
