The Gatesville Hornets cross country team will compete Thursday, Sept. 9 at the Waco Midway meet.
The runners are coming off solid showings at the 25-team Brownwood meet Sept. 1.
At Brownwood, freshman Vania Martinez picked up her second straight victory clocking in at 13:47.00 in the two-mile race.
The girls’ team was fifth among 25 teams.

Brownwood was first with 111 points followed by Goldwaithe 129, DeLeon 167, Jim Ned 204.
In the 3-mile boys race, Carlo Martinez was third in a time of 18:11.95.
Chris Saling of Jim Ned ran a 17:00.16 for first.
Luis Macias of Gatesville was sixth in 18:16.17.
