Oglesby JV White football defeats Gholson 43-12

The Oglesby junior varsity (JV) White team rendered their record to 2-1 by defeating the Gholson wildcats 43-12 on Thursday, Sept. 12 in Gholson.

The young Tigers were dominant on offense and defense throughout the game. 

Offensively for the Tigers

Treyton Linder had eight carries for 168 yards and five touchdowns. Linder proved to be too much for the wildcats, scoring often throughout the evening. 

Abram Shaw had four carries for 57 yards.

Javon Howard had one carry for a 15-yard touchdown run. 

Josue Rodriquez scored one point-after-touchdown (PAT).

Tucker Melton had two carries for 30 yards. Melton was 1-1 passing for two yards. 

Jacob Taylor caught one yard reception. 

Defensively for Tigers

Abram Shaw led a defensive charge with six tackles, one fumble recovery, and one interception. 

Javon Howard had five tackles and one fumble recovery. 

Gunner Riley had six tackles. 

Rolando Gonzales had three tackles.

Treyton Linder had one fumble recovery in the end zone for a defensive touchdown.

Tucker Melton had one tackle and one fumble recovery. 

Jacob Taylor had one fumble recovery. 

Aiden Aviles, Sam Ortiz, and Landry Riley saw action for the Tigers.

The JV White team traveled to West at St. Mary’s to play the Eagle Christian Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. Results from the game will be featured in the Saturday, Sept. 28 edition of The Gatesville Messenger.
