Lady Eagles make history as Region 2 Champions

This past Friday, on May 17, the Lady Eagles softball team went down in history as the first Jonesboro High School softball team to capture the title of Region 2 Champions and is now state bound.

The ladies played against the Dodd City Lady Hornets on Friday where they won 8-7 with a total of eight runs and 11 hits for the team.

The stats for the Lady Eagles includes Adalyna Andrade, 4 AB, 1 R, 1 H; Emily Turner, 3 AB, 2 R, 3 H; Kyleigh Walker, 4 AB, 1 R, 2 H; Julie Henderson, 4 AB, 1 R, 1 H; Ally Thorman, 3 AB, 1 R; Leighla Hernandez, 4 AB; Campbell Gustin, 4 AB, 2 R, 2 H; Kylee Gould, 3 AB, 1 H; Lynlee Deats, 3 AB, 1 H.

The girls will travel to play in Austin on Tuesday, May 28 at the University of Texas Softball Complex. The opponent and times for the game are to be determined at the moment.

Tickets for the state game will be available for purchase on Monday, May 27 at 8 a.m. All tickets are to be purchased online and downloaded to a mobile device prior to arrival at the stadium, as no tickets will be sold upon arrival. An individual session will cost $15 per person, and for an all-tournament pass it will cost $100 per person.
