Robert Andrew Amparan, age 72, of Pflugerville, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, at University Health Transplant Hospital in San Antonio.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Robert will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S. Bagdad Road in Leander. The family requests casual attire. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at The Mason Homestead, 1101 S. Bagdad Road, Leander.

Robert was born in El Paso Jan. 4, 1952, to the late Jose Andres Amparan and Natividad Lopez Amparan. He graduated from Eastwood High School in 1970. After high school, he accepted a football scholarship to the University of Colorado. His friends all called him “Ampi” or Bobby. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Andres Amparan and Natividad Lopez Amparan; sister, Norma Barron; sister, Toni Amparan; and niece, Sylvia Barron.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Heidi Beth Skelton of Pflugerville; his daughter, Heather Holmes and husband, Jeremy; and grandson, Wyatt Fulkerson of Leander. He is also survived by five nephews: Ray Barron and wife Pam of El Paso; David Barron and wife Michelle of El Paso; Ralph Barron and wife Linda of El Paso; Eddie Barron and wife Marta of Austin; and Michael Barron and wife Nancy of Clovis, New Mexico.
