Annual VBS coming soon at Pearl Church of Christ

Posted

The Pearl Church of Christ will hold its annual VBS May 27 through May 31, from 9 a.m.-12 p. m. each day. This event has taken place for over 30 years, and it continues to grow and to teach the love of Jesus each and every year. The theme this year is “Jesus Loves You!” Be sure and mark your calendars, and please tell all your friends and family. The Pearl Church of Christ VBS is epic, and you don’t want to miss it.

Pearl Church of Christ also reported that they had 33 people attend last Sunday and were able to give out two scholarships in person. Since the weather has prohibited many people from being able to travel in and around the area, it was decided that this May will be scholarship month. If you have been contacted that you are getting a scholarship from Pearl Church of Christ and would like to attend church to receive it, there is another opportunity tomorrow, May 19. Otherwise, your scholarship will be mailed to you if you cannot attend. Service starts at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday morning. Everyone is always invited to Pearl Church of Christ.

These are exciting times for the Pearl Bluegrass at the Pearl Community Center. The new officers are working hard to ensure a fun day in Pearl during each Bluegrass event. The next Bluegrass Day will be June 1. You can contact Garrett Dickey, President of the Pearl Community Center Board, at 254-595-1095 to schedule stage time. Just leave a message, and he will get back to you. Don’t forget that the Bluegrass kitchen is open from 11a.m.-4p.m., and the prices are very reasonable for the delicious, homemade food.

The Community Center is truly the hub of Pearl. It serves as a place for funeral lunches, reunions, and other community events. To rent the building or rent an RV space, contact Connie Long at 254-223-0621.

The Pearl Cottage Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 1. You will enjoy browsing over 6,000 books as well as various sundry other items. Purchases are made by donation, and all proceeds go toward the bookstore’s local charities. Kay and Corlisa will love seeing you, so stop by and visit, and enjoy a shopping adventure.

This week’s Bible verse comes from Proverbs 31:30—Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. NIV
