Mother Neff to host exploration walk June 29 & July 13

Mother Neff State Park has announced that it will host a walk to explore the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and natural history of the park on Saturday, June 29, and on Saturday, July 13.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m., so be sure to arrive early to check-in. The check-in will be held by the bathrooms in the campground.

The walk will last for about one and a half hours and will be a one-mile round trip. Those attending the walk will visit the CCC cabin area, the Rock Tower, and other CCC sites along the way, while also experiencing the biology, geology, and human impact in the park.

There is no cost to participate in the walk, but there will be a park entrance fee of two dollars per person. 12 and under get in free.

Be sure to wear the appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain. Sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent are recommended.
