Bell County Master Gardeners release May events schedule

The Bell County Master Gardeners Association recently announced its events schedule for the month of May. For those interested in gardening, the events held during the month are:

 

MAY 18

Please plan to attend the Bell County Master Gardener Association Free Monthly Seminar “Landscaping with Native Plants” on Thursday, May 18 at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Texas Agrilife Extension Office, BCMGA Learning Center (on the North end of the parking lot), 1605 N. Main St., Belton.   Certified Master Gardener Christy Reese will explain how using drought-tolerant native plants will add beauty to your landscape in addition to conserving water. She will provide recommendations of native plants for your yard that have proven to be adaptive to conditions in Bell County. Christy will address how plant selection is critical to a successful landscape.

Donations will be accepted to support continuing education opportunities in Bell County. 

MAY 23

The Bell County Master Gardener Association and Harker Heights Activities Center presents a Special Event Seminar “Texas Superstar Perennials” Tuesday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at the Harker Heights Activities Center, 400 Indian Trail, Harker Heights.  Certified Master Gardener, Sylvia Maedgen, will discuss deer-resistant plants, as well as pollinators and other perennial Texas Superstars that you can use in your landscape.   

Registration for the seminar opens on May 8.
