Several members of the community strapped on their running shoes to participate in Cen-Tex Crime Stoppers’ annual fundraiser, the Donut Dash 5K/10K.
The chip-timed races started and finished at the Gatesville City Pool on Saturday, May 18. This year, the Donut Dash also offered an untimed Kids K race.
All proceeds from the races benefit Cen-Tex Crime Stoppers, an organization that encourages the public to help local law enforcement agencies fight against crime by submitting tips about a case. Callers have the option to remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest.
The Donut Dash is the organization’s only fundraiser of the year.
For both the 5K and the 10K, Crime Stoppers presented awards to the top finishers in the following age groups: 19 years and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 years and older.
