Gatesville youth summer track first team practice, meet and greet May 16

Gatesville has a youth track team starting in the summer and is a registered affiliate under the TAAF Region 5.

All TAAF coaches are required to pass a national criminal background check. The coaches will include Don Ford, Kent Ford, Elliot Kelley, Phillip Martin, and Chance Taylor. The intent is to enjoy the sport while increasing speed, strength, and power useful for all sports.

A meet and greet will be held the first day of practice, May 16 at the high school track starting at 6:30 p.m. All parents and guardians are invited to attend.

The Gatesville team will practice twice a week. There will be Saturday track meets, starting June 3. All registered athletes will be able to compete in the all-Region 5 circuit meets this summer.

Age divisions will include six and under, eight and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under.

The cost per individual will be $60, and payments are accepted through cash or check only. Make checks payable to Gatesville Summer Track.
