Gatesville wrestlers pocket 11 medals

The Gatesville High School wrestling team swept Salado and Cameron Yoe with 50 match wins at the Killeen Ellison Invitational over the weekend.

The team earned 11 medals in the competition.

Gatesville’s first-place winners were:

Girls — Taylor Shea.

Boys — Brett Byler, John Hall, Jayden Kieltyka, Jordan Kincade, and David Manear.

Gatesville’s second-place competitors were:

Girls — Romi Bomar and Kaylie Tippit.

Boys — Eason Johnson and Tatum Taylor.

The third-place finishers for Gatesville were:

Boys — Cameron Baker.

The Hornets will face Copperas Cove, Killeen High and Harker Heights on Dec. 8 at Harker Heights High School.
