Oglesby JV White team falls to Vanguard

The Oglesby Tiger JV White football team played host on Thursday, Sept. 26 to the Vanguard Vikings. Both teams were able to move the ball up and down the field and score often. However, in the end, the Vikings came away with a 26-20 win.

Offensively

Treyton Linder was the workhorse for the Tigers, carrying the ball 13 times for 141 rushing yards with three touchdown runs of 55 yards, 40 yards, and 12 yards. 

Gunner Riley carried the ball six times for 79 yards. Riley scored a point-after-touchdown (PAT) on a pass from Tucker Melton.

Tucker Melton, quarterback, was 2/10 in passing for 24 yards. Melton also scored a PAT run and passed to Riley for another PAT. 

Javon Howard had one catch for 12 yards. 

Defensively for Tigers

 Treyton Linder had six tackles, one interception, and two fumble recoveries. 

Javon Howard had six tackles.

Gunner Riley had six tackles.

Jacob Taylor had five tackles.

Tucker Melton had four tackles and one sac for a five-yard loss. 

Rolando Gonzales had four tackles.

Sam Ortiz had one tackle.

The Oglesby JV White team hosted the Milford Bulldogs on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. The results will be featured in the Saturday, Oct. 12 edition of The Gatesville Messenger.
